Rules

BlairHacks is committed to creating a fair, safe, and welcoming environment for all participants. The following rules apply to all hackers, mentors, volunteers, and attendees.

Organizers reserve the right to interpret and enforce these rules at their discretion.

General Rules
  • All participants must be officially registered for BlairHacks.

  • Participants must wear their event badge at all times during the event.

  • Teams must follow the stated team size limits.

  • Only registered participants may work on and submit projects.

  • All attendees must follow venue rules at the venue.

Project Rules
  • Brainstorming and idea discussion before the event are allowed, but no pre-written code or pre-built projects may be used.

  • You may use open-source libraries, APIs, frameworks, and publicly available tools, but you must clearly disclose and credit them in your Devpost submission.

  • Projects must be appropriate for a school environment.

  • Plagiarism or copying another team’s project will result in disqualification.

Submission Rules
  • All teams must submit their project on Devpost before the stated deadline.

  • Each team may submit only one project.

  • Teams must present their project live during judging in order to be eligible for prizes.

  • Late or incomplete submissions may not be considered for judging.

Code of Conduct

BlairHacks is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion, or experience level.

All participants are expected to:

  • Be respectful and considerate toward others

  • Communicate openly and professionally

  • Accept feedback gracefully

  • Refrain from discriminatory, harassing, or harmful behavior

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes offensive verbal comments, intimidation, unwanted physical contact, sustained disruption of events, or inappropriate photography or recording.

If a participant violates the Code of Conduct, organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expulsion from the event without a refund, or disqualification from prizes.

If you experience or witness behavior that violates these rules, please report it immediately to a BlairHacks organizer.

Safety and Responsibility
  • Participants are responsible for their own belongings.

  • Follow all safety guidelines, especially when working with hardware.

  • Respect the venue and clean up your workspace before leaving.

BlairHacks is about learning, creativity, and collaboration. By attending, you agree to follow these rules and help create a positive experience for everyone.
